John Sampson's '58 Corvette

This car was a nice daily driver when we received it. The outside of the car along with the drive train has some miles on it but certainly a keeper. The interior had already been updated and looked like new. The car certainly did not need to be restored; simply a little TLC was called for.

With the owners blessing we removed and rebuilt the 289 solid lifter Duntoff cam, with an original duel carbureted engine into a 327 stroker motor. The engine and its bay still look stock we just brought the internals of the engine into the modern age.

We also rebuilt his factory Muncie 4 speed. It makes no difference do us, whether a stick or an automatic transmission this work is serviced in house. This insures quality control by MCS.

To complete the drive train we refurbished the factory posi rear end and then sprayed the engine compartment and the entire under carriage of the car to give it a new feel look to the car.

In regards to the body and paint we sanded down the old clear to the base paint on the vehicle and then re-applied clear coat. Various portions of the bumpers were also re-chromed. This Corvette is one nice ride!

Take note enthusiast’s, John’s car came in to our shop at the beginning of winter 2007 and left at the end of winter 2008. This car did not miss a beat of spring summer driving and the good part it stayed in our heated shop. This gentleman had an excellent game plan on his Vette from work performed to scheduling of his project.
